Our advantages – Sustainable energy, smartly chosen:
Xemex Smart Connect P1 dongle: suitable for Peblar, Alfen, Schneider, and Mennekes charging solutions, among others.
Features:
Compact and versatile interface for energy measurement and data communication.
The Xemex Smart Connect P1 dongle is a smart and compact conversion module (dongle) that makes real-time consumption data from a smart meter available via Modbus TCP. The dongle forms a robust bridge between smart (energy) meters and systems such as EV chargers and batteries that require energy management. This makes the dongle a smart add-on for your residential energy meter. Whether for load balancing or monitoring, the smart P1 meter dongle offers a reliable and flexible solution in both residential and professional applications.
The Smart Connect P1 is not only developed, but also produced in the Netherlands. This makes it an authentic EU quality product, proudly manufactured according to European standards. A reliable solution from its own region, designed and built close to the market where it is applied.
Sagemcom and Landis+Gyr E350 compatible: Do you have a digital meter from the brand Sagemcom (type S211, T211, XS212, or XT211) or a Landis+Gyr E350? Then you will benefit even more from the Xemex dongle. We are the only ones compatible with these Sagemcom and Landis+Gyr E350 meters without the need to purchase additional power supply.
Flexible installation via (wired) Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or peer-to-peer connection
The P1 dongle supports multiple connection methods: via a fixed Ethernet connection with UTP cable, via Wi-Fi, or via a direct peer-to-peer connection with a charging station. This makes the device quick and easy to install in various situations, without complex network configurations. Configuration is intuitive via a built-in web interface, accessible via mDNS, local IP address, or Wi-Fi hotspot.
Data exchange via Modbus TCP and MQTT integration
The dongle or P1 meter continuously reads smart meter data via the P1 port and converts it to Modbus TCP. All information can then be used by EV chargers, EMS systems, or other smart devices. It is also possible to link the dongle to your own in-house MQTT broker via the built-in web interface. This combination enables advanced data integration and monitoring, without the dongle itself needing to host a broker.
No local hosting, but smart software in compact hardware
The P1 meter can be used as a hardware and software solution in one compact module. The device itself does not host a broker or applications, but acts as an intelligent translation layer between the smart meter and the network. Thanks to the built-in software, network settings, forwarding modes, and protocols can be easily managed without external software or gateways.
Support for multiple use cases
The Smart Connect P1 supports three use cases:
For DSMR 5.0 meters, the dongle receives new data every second; for DSMR 4.2, this is every 10 seconds. Thanks to advanced forwarding modes, the dongle can also function as an active or passive splitter, allowing multiple devices to utilize the data.
Splitter function: smart data, two destinations simultaneously
The Smart Connect P1 dongle is equipped with both a P1 input (left) and a P1 output (right). The output transmits exactly the same data as what enters the input — without delay or processing. This makes it possible to connect one smart meter simultaneously to multiple devices. For example, an existing P1 dongle can be connected to the output to visualize real-time consumption for the end-user, while the EV charger receives the necessary measurement data for load balancing via Modbus TCP.
