Traditional three-phase charging stations cannot utilize low solar power outputs, e.g., in the early morning and evening, because minimum charging capacities must comply with standards. The SMA EV Charger allows this energy to be utilized to the fullest by initiating a single-phase charge at 1.3 kW and automatically switching to three-phase charging at higher solar power outputs.

Regardless of whether it is a new or existing installation, the SMA EV Charger is flexible in use and, thanks to the permanent connection with a type 2 charging cable, this product is compatible with all common electric vehicles.

Combined with Sunny Home Manager 2.0, customers can prioritize solar energy for charging their electric vehicles—and do so very quickly, if needed. The SMA EV Charger is easily operated with a rotary switch on the device or via the SMA Energy app.

The boost function allows for twice as fast charging as with conventional charging stations. Even small solar power systems can be optimally utilized by automatically switching between single- and three-phase charging. The intelligent system continuously considers all consumers and prevents overloading of the home connection.
