Conventional three-phase charging stations cannot use low solar power outputs, e.g. in the early morning and evening, because minimum charging powers must comply with standards. With the SMA EV Charger, this energy can be used to the maximum by starting a single-phase charging process at 1.3 kW and automatically switching to three-phase charging at higher solar power outputs.

Regardless of whether it is a new or existing installation, the SMA EV Charger can be used flexibly and, thanks to the permanent connection with a type 2 charging cable, this product is compatible with all common electric vehicles.

In combination with Sunny Home Manager 2.0, customers can prioritize solar energy for charging their electric vehicle - and do so particularly quickly if necessary. The SMA EV Charger is easily operated using a rotary switch on the device or via the SMA Energy app.

The boost function allows charging twice as fast as with conventional charging stations. Even small solar power systems can be optimally used by automatically switching between a single- and three-phase charging process. The intelligent system continuously takes all consumers into account and prevents overloading of the house connection.
