In Enphase IQ installations, the multiphase IQ Relay functions as a grid monitoring and disconnection device and includes a built-in phase coupler to distribute communication signals in power cables between phases. An external phase coupler is not required when the IQ Relay (3-phase) is installed. The IQ Relay physically disconnects the IQ Microinverters from the grid when abnormalities are detected or when required by grid regulations, and automatically reconnects when grid conditions become applicable.
