For real-time insight into energy consumption, Hoymiles Ecotracker P1 Required. The Hoymiles Ecotracker P1 (sold separately) is a compact dongle that reads real-time data from digital electricity meters via the P1 port. Thanks to the direct Wi-Fi connection, no gateway is required, and energy consumption is clearly displayed in the accompanying app.
The device supports various modes to optimize power management:
1. Self-consumption mode (Dynamic): Adjusts charging/discharging to current consumption via smart meter, for maximum self-consumption.
2. TOU (Time-of-Use) mode: Charges during off-peak hours, discharges during peak hours to save costs.
3. Off-grid mode: Supplies power to devices without a mains connection, e.g. during a power outage.
4. Zero feed-in mode: Prevents power being fed back into the grid, useful in case of restrictions or low feed-in tariffs.
