SMA AC surge protection module kit type 1/2

SMA module kit for AC surge protection type I and II. Alternating current surge protection (AC surge protection) is necessary to protect electrical devices against voltage peaks. Also called overvoltage and lightning is a well-known example of this. However, surge protection creates potential equalization which leads to neutralization of the voltage differences. This leaves all connected solar panels and inverters undamaged.

Type I surge protection is designed to protect against a direct lightning strike. Type II has a lower rating than type I and only protects against indirect lightning strikes. See link info for combination with an inverter.
